"Miriam": Truman Capote

New story: "Miriam"




  • Pre-treatment activity: Click on the following link. There is a jigsaw ready for you!


  • Treatment activity: The class is divided in six groups. Each group will read 20 paragraphs of the story. Then, complete the activities.



1. Post a summary of your part (three to five lines). All groups can read it!

  • Post-treatment activity:

  • According to your own analysis of the ending, write a sequel (second part) inventing a third character. You should include these aspects in your sequel:
  1. The new character is important for the solution of the problem.
  2. He/she must should have a significant name and physical description.
  3. If dialogues are important, please write them.
  4. Don't forget to be coherent with the written work.


(Students use creativity as well as they practice the written language in a fun way)
