"The happy man"-activities

Work with the story!
Check your understanding before and after reading it:

• Pre-treatment activity: Can you guess what is going on in the story by using these words?

This activity has been created as a pre-treatment activity to introduce the new story "The happy man". Students practice vocabulary and they catch a glimpse of the story.

• Treatment activity: 

1. In groups, use wordle.net to create a  tag cloud about the new vocabulary you have learnt. Then, you will show it to the class.

2. Answer these questions:

               Why does Stephens visit the doctor?
           Stephens works in an infirmary, is he well- paid or not?
           What does Stephens do in Seville?


These activities are designed to check students' correct understanding of the story.


   

• Post-treatment activity: Imagine an alternative end or retake the original one into a funnier version. Be creative!
